Community Development Committee

Our Mission: 

The Community Development Committee is a group of citizens appointed by the mayor, working to help the City Council and Mayor by recommending federal grants to non-profit organizations and city government entities within the City of Framingham.

Our Role

The Community Development Committee works in cooperation with the Community and Planning Department to work to complete the following:

• Hold public hearings to obtain the views of citizens on community development and housing needs.
• Provide citizens with adequate opportunities to participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Community Development Program, including CDBG.
• Recommends to the City Council and Mayor an annual Community Development Plan consisting of a statement of Community Development Objectives and Projected Use of Funds.
• Satisfy the citizen participation requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974.
