The mission of the Framingham Cultural Council, a local partner of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, is to promote excellence, access, education, and diversity in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences, thereby improving the quality of life for all Framingham residents and contributing to the economic vitality of our community.

The Council is responsible for ensuring that MCC and other local Framingham funds are distributed broadly to Framingham's creative community through grants, awards, scholarships, and other forms of public awareness and recognition and reflect the city’s cultural diversity.

The Mayor appoints new members of the Framingham Cultural Council for a term of 1, 2, or 3 years.

The legislative branch of government - City Council - has the right to approve or reject the Mayor's nominees.

Members may be re-appointed but cannot serve for more than 6 consecutive years.

Meetings are held monthly on Wednesday evenings.
