City of Framingham to Conduct Culvert Inspections During Winter 2025-2026

 

FRAMINGHAM - Beginning Thursday, December 4, the City of Framingham, in collaboration with VHB, the City’s engineering consultant, will begin a comprehensive series of culvert inspections scheduled throughout the winter of 2025–2026.

The inspections are part of the City’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving stormwater infrastructure. As part of this work, City staff and VHB engineers will gather data and photographs of drainage culverts across Framingham. Most inspections will take place along roadsides and within waterways that flow through the culvert system.

In some cases, inspectors may need to access areas along property lines or within existing drainage easements. If private property access is required for culvert cleaning or jetting, affected property owners will be notified in advance.

These inspections are essential to assessing the condition of the City’s culverts and identifying future maintenance or repair needs to reduce flooding risks and ensure proper water flow throughout the community.
