The Sanitation Division conducts an annual curbside collection of yard waste and brush during the spring and fall. All curbside yard waste and brush collections take place on your regular trash collection day only on the weeks designated. A separate collection vehicle is dispatched to collect only yard waste and brush during the following designated collection weeks.
2025 Spring Curbside Yard Waste Collection
Yard Waste Facility Opening:
The Yard Waste Facility will open this Friday, April 4, 2025, for residents to drop off eligible yard waste.
Curbside Leaf Collection
Residents can take advantage of five weeks of curbside leaf collection on the following dates:
- October 27 – October 31
- November 3 – November 7
- November 10 – November 15(No collection on November 11 – Holiday)
- November 17 – November 21
- November 24 – November 29(No collection on November 27 – Holiday)
Leaves must be placed in biodegradable paper bags or open barrels and set at the curb by 7:00 AM on the designated collection days.
Curbside Brush Collection:
The two-week curbside brush collection will take place October 20–24, 2025, and December 8–12, 2025.
Brush should be neatly stacked and tied in bundles no longer than four feet in length.
Brush will not be collected during yard waste collection and yard waste will not be collected during brush collection.
What are Yard Waste and Brush?
- Yard waste: is defined as leaves and non-woody organic garden waste (i.e., grass clippings, plant waste, and light trimmings too small to bundle). No sod, dirt, sand, gravel, or rocks are permitted.
- Brush: wood waste from bushes and trees, including sticks, twigs, branches, and shrubs. No stumps or logs are permitted.
Preparing your Yard Waste and Brush for Curbside Pickup:
Yard waste: use paper leaf bags or reusable containers marked "yard waste." Bags and containers cannot exceed 40 pounds and 35 gallons.
Brush: pieces cannot exceed 4 inches in diameter and 4 feet in length. Bundle and tie with string or twine (no wire), or place in a reusable container marked "yard waste."
- Any yard waste or brush in a plastic bag will not be collected.
- Any material not conforming to these guidelines will be left at the curb, and the resident must dispose of it.
