Framingham Public Works Update on Second Street Project

FRAMINGHAM - The City of Framingham Public Works is providing an update on the ongoing Second Street improvement project.

Monday, September 15, 2025: Utility work will be completed on the Waverly Street end of Second Street. Only trench paving will remain for that section, which is scheduled to take place in the coming weeks.

Tuesday and Wednesday, [insert dates]: One lane of alternating traffic will be in place on Beaver Street at Second Street. This traffic pattern will allow crews to begin sewer main replacement on the dead-end section of Second Street.

Sewer main installation is expected to last approximately one week. After that work is finished, crews will install the new water and sewer services on the dead-end section.

Once the utility work on both ends is complete, trench paving will be scheduled. The entire project is expected to be finished by the end of September 2025.

However, the Second Street Public Works project is expected to resume in Spring 2026.

Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes when possible and to use caution when traveling through the work zone.

For questions or additional information, please contact the Department of Public Works, Water & Wastewater Division, at 508-532-6050.
