Public Invited to the 4th Annual Cooler Communities Fair on Saturday, May 31
FRAMINGHAM - The City of Framingham and Framingham Public Schools (FPS), in collaboration with the Cooler Communities Program and Energize Framingham, are inviting the public to attend Framingham’s fourth annual Cooler Communities Fair on Saturday, May 31, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Fuller Middle School in Framingham. The public event is free to attend and all are welcome to join.
Annual Cooler Communities Fairs are supported by the Cooler Communities Program, the FPS Community Resource Development Department, the FPS Office of Equity, Diversity, and Community Engagement, students and faculty of various elementary and middle schools, as well as multiple local committees and organizations.
At the event, FPS students will again show their amazing projects on climate change, energy efficiency, and related subjects, and participating organizations such as the Framingham Sustainability Committee and Energize Framingham will share information for parents and community members to help them make more sustainable choices. Framingham residents and families are encouraged to attend to learn about opportunities to help reduce the community’s carbon footprint and explore opportunities to lower their energy costs. Additionally, Mass Energize will be coordinating tours of on-site local clean energy projects such as the Eversource Geothermal Pilot Project.
“We are extremely excited to have our student projects from both our out of school time programs as well as our school day class teachers and students from all of our district schools. This year’s Cooler Communities Fair is set to be the biggest one that we’ve held yet in Framingham. Framingham Public Schools takes pride in its efforts around matters of environmental sustainability and we look forward to sharing the various forms of education and internal actions being taken to support this cause,” said Yemi Ajao, FPS Director of Partnerships at the Office of Equity, Belonging, and Community Engagement.
“It’s been so amazing see the growing success of the Cooler Communities Fairs and expanding student participation each year since 2022 under the leadership of Yemi Ajao and his team at FPS – these events represent critical opportunities to not only give students a creative outlet to explore and better understand complex climate challenges, but also to connect their families with resources they can use individually to create meaningful change at home while collectively contributing to a positive impact on our community” said Shawn Luz, Sustainability Coordinator for the City.
This year’s event will feature free food, fun games and activities for children, as well as tours of local clean energy projects that are serving the Fuller Middle School and Farley Administration Building organized by Energize Framingham.
