Framingham Firefighter Memorial Foundation Announces Fundraising Initiative to Honor Fallen Heroes with Custom-Engraved Memorial Bricks

FRAMINGHAM - The Framingham Firefighter Memorial Foundation is excited to announce a new opportunity for the public to contribute to the creation of the Memorial for the City’s fallen firefighters.

As part of its ongoing fundraising efforts, the Foundation is now offering custom-engraved bricks as a way for individuals, families, and organizations to leave a lasting mark on this important tribute.

“We want the community to have a direct connection to this memorial, and purchasing a personalized brick is a powerful way to do that,” said Framingham Assistant Chief John X. Schultz, President of the Framingham Firefighter Memorial Foundation. “These bricks will not only help fund the memorial but also serve as a permanent reminder of the bravery and sacrifice of our firefighters.”

The memorial, which will be located at the Framingham Fire Department Headquarters on 10 Loring Drive, will feature a 6-foot-tall bronze statue of a firefighter, a granite wall listing the names of those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and a space to recognize past members of the department.

The personalized bricks will be placed in the memorial area and can be engraved with up to four lines of text.

How to Get Involved:

The Foundation is offering two donation levels for brick purchases:

  • Second Alarm Level: $150 for a 6x9 brick with up to four lines of personalized text (17 characters per line).
  • First Alarm Level: If you prefer to make a monetary donation without purchasing a brick, you can do so at any amount.

“This is a unique opportunity for people to honor their loved ones, support our heroes, and make a meaningful contribution to this lasting tribute,” said Framingham Fire Deputy Chief Kurt O’Rourke, Treasurer of the Memorial Foundation. “The engraved bricks will be a central part of the memorial and an enduring symbol of the sacrifices our firefighters have made.”

Each brick will be personalized with the message of your choice, using only uppercase letters and without special symbols or emojis. This is a perfect way to commemorate a firefighter, family member, or friend.

Donors can make payments through Venmo (@FFDMemorialFund) or by check, payable to the Framingham Firefighters’ Memorial Foundation. All donations are 100% tax-deductible.

“Whether you are purchasing a brick in memory of a fallen hero or supporting the memorial to show your gratitude for our fire department, your contribution will have a lasting impact. We appreciate every donation and every brick that will be part of this important project,” said Framingham Firefighter Dana Tesorero, who is one of the Directors of the Foundation.
