City of Framingham Seeking Applicants For Framingham Union Grants Panel
FRAMINGHAM - The City of Framingham is now accepting applications from qualified residents interested in serving as a member of the Framingham Union Grants Panel, a five-member volunteer body responsible for overseeing the distribution of certain restricted funds from the MetroWest Health Foundation.
The Panel plays a vital role in ensuring that these funds are used in accordance with the mission and goals of the Foundation, specifically to address unmet health needs within the Framingham community.
While not limited solely to Framingham, the Panel’s work is deeply rooted in improving local community health and wellness.
Mayor Charlie Sisitsky will nominate an individual to the Panel.
Final approval shall be determined by the Board of Trustees of the MetroWest Health Foundation.
Mayor encourages residents with a strong commitment to community health and public service to apply.
Minimum Requirements:
- Applicants must be residents of Framingham.
- Must bring relevant experience and skills that align with the purpose and mission of the Panel and Foundation.
- Members should reflect the broad and diverse interests of the Framingham community.
- Individuals affiliated with specific special interests or groups will not be considered, as impartiality is critical.
Responsibilities Include:
- Reviewing and making recommendations on grant applications and proposals.
- Monitoring grant-funded programs and ensuring compliance with guidelines.
- Identifying and addressing emerging community health concerns.
- Promoting the work of the Panel and Foundation within the MetroWest region.
- Attending and actively participating in regular Panel meetings.
- Maintaining confidentiality and avoiding conflicts of interest.
Ideal Candidates:
The Panel values individuals who are open-minded, collaborative, and committed to consensus-based decision-making. While expertise in health and healthcare is beneficial, it is not required. Strong familiarity with Framingham’s communities and their challenges is highly desired.
