MassDEP: Drilling At Former General Chemical Site Monday

FRAMINGHAM – The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) is providing this update to inform the community that the next phase of activities will begin at the former General Chemical Corporation property on Leland Street in Framingham.

MassDEP’s contractor will be conducting an additional soil and groundwater investigation to determine the location and magnitude of contamination in the footprint of the recently demolished warehouse building.

Drilling activities for this investigation are scheduled to begin the week of October 7.

The results will allow MassDEP to develop the most effective cleanup plan.

Please contact MassDEP's Andrew Friedmann at 617-894-3543 or via email at andrew.friedmann@mass.gov with any questions.
