Route 9 Pump Station Work Will Require Detour

FRAMINGHAM – As part of the Worcester Road Pump Station project, Framingham Public Work’s construction contractor, D&C Construction, will be installing valves and pipe at the corner of Main Street and Walnut Street on Wednesday, September 18.

Major activity will start around 9 p.m. and is expected to go until about 3 a.m. on Thursday, September 19.

“This work has to be done when the wastewater flows are at their off-peak lowest point, allowing the pump station to be shut down completely with trucks hauling wastewater in the place of the station’s pumps,” according to Framingham Public Works.

Main Street will be open at all times but will be down to one lane with alternating traffic during most of the construction time frame.

Walnut Street will be closed at the immediate construction area, but residents will have access to their driveways.

Police details will be situated at the work site and at key intersections along the detour route. (See map below)
