City of Framingham Advertising For Volunteers For Cable Advisory Committee

FRAMINGHAM –If you are interested in having an impact on policies and franchise agreements regarding the City’s three cable operators – Astound, Comcast, and Verizon, consider joining the open volunteer positions on the five-person Cable Advisory Committee.

Appointed by the Mayor, members of this Committee will negotiate agreements with cable providers to ensure that contract agreements are implemented to benefit all residents of Framingham.

The Framingham Cable Advisory Committee also acts as an ombudsman for Framingham citizens on unresolved billing errors and repair problems, and acts as a liaison between cable TV subscribers and cable companies providing the service to citizens.

The Committee may also provide advice and assistance to the Mayor in the intervention of local cable issues.

Committee members serve 3-year terms without compensation. Members are required to be residents of Framingham.

The public is welcome to contact the Cable Advisory Committee via email (FraminghamCAC@gmail.com) to report issues involving issues that you have been unable to resolve with your cable provider, including billing errors and persistent repair issues. Please contact the committee after first making reasonable efforts to resolve these problems with your provider. The committee will make every attempt to respond within three days.
