UPDATE: West Nile Virus mosquitoes found in the neighboring communities of Natick and Wayland.

 

 

FRAMINGHAM  - After mosquitoes with West Nile Virus were found in the neighboring communities of Natick & Wayland, residents in Framingham should be alert and take precautions to avoid mosquito bites.

Actions one can take to prevent West Nile Virus Infection:

 

1. Be prepared: Know your risk – repair screens, clean up or get rid of mosquito breeding sites, be aware of stagnant water on private property and consult the Framingham Health Department webpage (PUBLIC HEALTH     | City of Framingham, MA Official Website (framinghamma.gov) on the City’s website.

2. Wear long sleeves and long pants from dusk to dawn when weather permits

3. Use mosquito netting on baby carriages and playpens

4. Wear mosquito repellent with an EPA-registered active ingredient when outdoors, especially between dusk and dawn

5. Dump standing water twice weekly
