Reardon Park Waiting on Completed Designs

FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham is currently in the design phase for the Reardon Park project in Saxonville, and not ready for construction.

The initial cost estimates exceeded 3 million dollars for a complete park redesign in 2022.

As a result, the City has engaged the designer to reduce construction costs and focus on the primary connections to create accessible pathways to the parking lot, playground, basketball court, and splash play, said Framingham Parks & Recreation Director James Snyder.

There have been some inaccurate reports that the Mayor has cut the project from the capital budget. The project is not a part of the capital budget as the design phase is not complete.

Recent developments in the design require a lengthy permit from Eversource due to the proximity to the powerlines, causing a delay in the final design, said Snyder.

As a result, the design and cost estimate will not be complete for the City Council review for this year's Capital Budget, said Snyder.
