Framingham Council on Aging Announces 6th Annual Senior Heroes Awards
FRAMINGHAM - The Framingham Council on Aging is now accepting nominations for the 6th Annual Framingham Senior Heroes Awards, recognizing older adults whose volunteer service strengthens diversity, inclusion, and community life in Framingham.
Framingham is a multicultural community with a long history of welcoming people of all backgrounds and ethnic groups.
The Senior Heroes Awards honor four (4) Framingham residents age 60 and older whose volunteer efforts demonstrate a strong commitment to inclusivity and meaningful service in the community.
Awards will be presented in the following categories:
- Culture/Arts – Contributions through performing arts, visual arts, poetry, playwriting, music, dance, video, singing, or other creative expressions that celebrate diversity and inclusion.
- Social Development – Programs or activities that promote positive interactions among people of different ethnic groups, abilities, gender identities, and ages, including sports, after-school programs, special events, or community initiatives.
- Health or Healthcare – Volunteer efforts that support populations with limited access due to race, gender, gender identity, language, disability, immigration status, or other barriers.
- Public Service – Volunteer service to the City of Framingham through boards, councils, committees, Town Meeting, or prior elected service.
Individuals currently employed by the City of Framingham, currently elected officials, candidates for political office, and current Council on Aging Board members are not eligible for nomination.
Former public officials and Framingham residents who are not currently employed by the City may be nominated for outstanding volunteer efforts that reflect a commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
The deadline to submit a nomination is February 9, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
