Framingham Public Works Conducting Stormwater Drainage Structure Inspections
FRAMINGHAM - The City of Framingham Department of Public Works (DPW), in partnership with Weston & Sampson Engineers, has begun inspecting City-owned drainage. Work will continue through October, weather permitting.
These inspections are part of the City’s ongoing efforts to reduce pollutant discharges from stormwater runoff into streams, rivers, lakes, and ponds. The information gathered will help the City identify future improvements to the municipal drainage system.
To complete the work, consultants may need to inspect drainage structures located in or near residential properties. Access will be through City-owned easements. Work crews will:
- Wear safety attire and carry City-issued identification badges
- Spend no more than 30 minutes at each structure
- Locate, assess, and document the structure’s condition
- Take photographs for record-keeping
- Possibly place a temporary sandbag or collect a water-quality sample
