Framingham Firefighters Quickly Extinguish Two House Fires

FRAMINGHAM - Framingham Fire Department responded to two separate house fires this afternoon, April 23, both of which were quickly contained without injury.

The first fire occurred at 14 Anzio Road. Fire Chief Michael Dutcher reported that the fire, which was small in nature, affected only the siding of the house. Engine 5 firefighters responded swiftly and were able to extinguish the fire before it could spread. The cause of the fire was determined to be the careless disposal of smoking materials, according to Chief Dutcher.

The second fire occurred at 20 Alexander Street, where Engine 3 firefighters found a garage and a gazebo fully engulfed in flames. The fire also caused significant damage to a vehicle and melted the siding of the unoccupied home. Fortunately, there were no injuries. Chief Dutcher confirmed that the house was unoccupied at the time of the blaze, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation by Framingham Fire officials.

The Department will continue to investigate the cause of the second fire.
