City Accepting Applicants for the Framingham Agricultural Advisory Committee

FRAMINGHAM - The City of Framingham is seeking applicants to fill multiple seats on the Framingham Agricultural Advisory Committee.

The City of Framingham's policy is to conserve, protect, and encourage the maintenance and improvement of agricultural land for the production of food and other agricultural products and also for its natural and ecological value. To support that policy, the Agricultural Advisory Committee was established as Framingham's primary advocate for farming and agriculture. The committee is charged with administering the City’s Right-to-Farm Ordinance (Section 25) but does not have any regulatory / enforcement powers.

The committee’s roles and responsibilities include:

  • Serving as a local voice advocating for farmers, farm-related businesses, and agricultural interests in general.
  • Providing visibility for farming in Framingham.
  • Working with other city departments/boards/commissions/committees on issues facing the City that affect agriculture.
  • Helping to resolve farm-related problems and/or conflicts.
  • Protecting farmlands and natural resources.

There is an opening for a full member seat available through June 30, 2025 and another opening for a full member seat through June 30, 2027.

There are also two alternate (non-voting member) seats available for 3-year terms.
