City Advertising for Openings on the Framingham Cultural Council

FRAMINGHAM – City of Framingham Mayor Charlie Sisitsky is advertising for individuals to apply for seats on the Framingham Cultural Council.

The Framingham Cultural Council is a local partner of the Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC).

The mission of the Framingham Cultural Council is to promote excellence, access, education and diversity in the arts, humanities, and interpretive sciences and thus improve quality of life for all Framingham residents while contributing to the economic vitality of the community.

The council works to ensure that funding is distributed to Framingham’s creative community through grants, awards, scholarships, and other means of public awareness and recognition in order to reflect the city’s cultural diversity.

The deadline to apply is Saturday, August 10, 2024.

To apply, visit this link: Form Center • Boards, Committees, Commission, Officers Appli (framinghamma.gov)

Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

The Mayor will review the applications submitted by the deadline, and then make nominations.

 There are multiple seats available.

The Mayor may appoint individuals to a 1-year, 2-year or 3-year term.

The City Council, as the legislative division of City Government, has 30 days to approve or reject the Mayor’s nominees.

Questions about the Committee can be directed to Framingham Citizen Participation Officer Nicole Horton-Stimpson at NHS@framinghamma.gov.
