Parks Maintenance Facility
The Parks Maintenance Facility was built in 2009 and is located adjacent to Loring Arena and J.P. Keefe Technical School. This location is ideal due to the close proximity to many properties maintained by Framingham Parks Department, such as: Cushing Memorial Park, Farm Pond Park, Long’s Athletic Complex, Barbieri Athletic Fields and several other properties of moderate to heavy use.
Being next to Keefe Tech is key as we continue to have close collaboration with their Horticultural Program. The unheated multi-bay storage areas offer storage for up to 18 trucks and trailers within the two structures that face each other. in addition, the facility includes a construction yard between the buildings. There is a small administrative area that provides employees' locker space, restrooms, a repair shop, and office space. In total, the facility provides approximately 17,000-square feet of storage and administrative space located on 1.3 acres.
Volunteers & Programs
The Department also works closely with local volunteer groups and is always seeking ways to improve the environment by developing earth friendly programs such as our Adopt a Bird House Program, Adopt a Bee House Program, and Beautification Program.
The Beautification Program focuses on creating and maintaining flower gardens and plantings for over 70 traffic islands, playgrounds, and parks. The Bird/Bee House Programs are popular programs where residents can adopt a bird/bee house for a small fee. For more information on these programs please contact our office at 508-532-5960.
