Sept. 13, 2019: Due to the recent threat of EEE, all Framingham Parks & Recreation outdoor facilities are closed from dusk until dawn.  Bowditch Track will be closed at 6pm each evening until further notice.



The City of Framingham offers a wide variety of recreational amenities to the residents of the city and surrounding community. The department has hosted over 14,000 events at their facilities this past year. Amenities offered by Parks and Recreation are:

  • 2 Running tracks
  • 3 Beaches open to the public from late June through mid August
  • 16 Tennis courts (14 lighted)
  • 19 Basketball courts (8 half-court, 11 full-court including 3 lighted)
  • 25 Playgrounds
  • 64 Athletic fields for a variety of sports which are available for group use by obtaining a permit through the Parks and Recreation Department
  • Indoor ice skating arena
  • Several passive recreation areas
