Welcome to the official site for the Cushing Park Splash Pad! With the help of community advocates, Community Preservation Act funding and City Capital appropriations, we’re excited to bring a new and refreshing community attraction to Cushing Park, providing fun and safe water play for all ages. Explore the features of the project, learn about our progress, and stay updated on important milestones.

The Cushing Park Splash Pad will be an innovative water play area designed for families, kids, and outdoor enthusiasts. This splash pad will feature water jets, interactive elements, and sustainable design, ensuring hours of fun for everyone. Whether you're seeking a place for kids to cool off on a hot day or a beautiful space to gather with family and friends, the new splash pad will offer something for everyone.

Status: Design Phase

Splash pads are a safe and environmentally friendly way to enjoy water recreation. They’re designed to provide a fun, interactive experience for kids of all ages. The Cushing Park Splash Pad will enhance our community’s amenities and provide a cool, safe, and accessible outdoor space for all visitors.

We believe every member of the community should have access to outdoor play. ADA-compliant pathways, seating areas, and spaces that are accessible to people with disabilities will be incorporated into the design.

Funding

The Parks & Recreation Department has authorized an FY24 Capital appropriation to begin design efforts for a community splash pad.

Additional funding will be necessary for the construction of the splash pad. Requests are currently being presented through the City’s Capital Improvement Budget process as well as seeking supplemental funding from the Community Preservation Act (CPA25-007 request).
