8 Individuals Displaced in 2-Alarm Fire at 90 Arlington Street
FRAMINGHAM – Eight individuals were displaced, and 3 dogs were rescued by firefighters in a two-alarm fire on Arlington Street this morning, January 9, 2026.
Around 10:30 a.m., Framingham firefighters responded to a reported structure fire at 90 Arlington Street.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke coming from the roof of a three-story, wood-frame residential building.
Due to the volume of smoke and the type of construction, a second alarm was struck, according to Framingham Fire Chief Michael Dutcher.
Firefighters were able to bring the fire under control in approximately one hour, Chief Dutcher said.
As a result of the fire, eight adults were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross, said the Framingham Fire Chief.
Two cats unfortunately perished in the fire; however, firefighters were able to rescue three dogs from the building, said Chief Dutcher.
Three firefighters sustained minor injuries while operating at the scene, said Chief Dutcher.
There were no injuries reported among residents, Chief Dutcher said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Framingham Fire Department and the Fire Prevention Division.
