Mayor Seeks Resident to Serve on Framingham School Building Committee
FRAMINGHAM - The City of Framingham is seeking a Framingham resident to serve on the Framingham School Building Committee (SBC), following the resignation of District 8 resident Roslyn Child.
In accordance with guidelines from the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA), Mayor Charlie Sisitsky issued Executive Order #2023-003 in 2023 to establish the Framingham School Building Committee.
The Committee plays a key role in the City’s MSBA-approved elementary school building project. The Framingham School Building Committee is responsible for monitoring the MSBA application process and providing guidance and oversight throughout the planning, design, and construction of the approved school project.
The School Building Committee typically meets on Monday evenings. Interested applicants must complete the application at the following link: Form Center • Boards, Committees, Commission, Officers Appli and also submit a cover letter and résumé.
Child was appointed by the Mayor Per the executive order, the Mayor appoints four members to the Committee, of which 3 members of the community will have architecture, engineering, and/or construction experience.
The deadline to apply is January 25, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
The Chair of the 13-member School Building Committee is City Councilor George P. King. Jr.
The Mayor will review applications after the deadline, and nominate one individual to the Committee.
The City Council will then have 30 days to approve or reject the nominee. If no action is taken, the individual will automatically become a member of the Committee.
