Framingham DPW Announces Overnight Water Work Scheduled on Waverly Street Starting October 21

FRAMINGHAM - The City of Framingham Department of Public Works (DPW) announced this morning, October 20, 2025, crews will be performing overnight water infrastructure work on Waverly Street (Route 135), just west of Second Street, on Tuesday, October 21, and Wednesday, October 22, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

During this time, crews from Russo Corporation will replace a broken valve discovered during recent work on Second Street and install an additional valve to help minimize the need for future water shutdowns in the area.

Water service will be temporarily shut off beginning at 10 p.m. each night for customers located between Second Street and Willis Street. This later start allows nearby businesses to complete their evening operations before the outage.

Water off notices are being hand-delivered today (October 20) to all affected residents and businesses.

No Parking signs will also be posted on Waverly Street in the work zone for the duration of the overnight work hours, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

This work is being completed while crews await testing results for the new water main on Centennial Place. The Department appreciates the community’s patience as these critical improvements are made to Framingham’s water system.
