City of Framingham Advertising For Registered Democrat for Board of Registrars
.
FRAMINGHAM - The City of Framingham is accepting applications from registered Democrats interested in serving on the City’s Board of Registrars of Voters.
Applications must be submitted by Friday, October 24, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
The Board of Registrars of Voters plays a vital role in ensuring fair and impartial elections in Framingham.
The Board consists of four members: three individuals appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council, and the City Clerk, who serves as an ex-officio member.
As required by Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 51, Section 15, the board must include representatives from the two leading political parties.

The vacancy was created following the recent resignation of Linda Fields, who served as one of two Democratic members of the Board.
The City is currently seeking a registered Democrat to fill the open seat.
The Board is responsible for a wide range of election-related duties, including:
- Accepting and certifying nomination papers
- Certifying initiative and referendum petitions
- Conducting elections and recounts in a fair and impartial manner
- Maintaining accurate lists of registered voters
- Processing absentee voter applications, address changes, and party enrollments
- Tallying election results and overseeing voter registration
- Maintaining and testing voting equipment
- Collecting, enumerating, and publishing the City’s Annual Street List
In addition to these responsibilities, the Board ensures that all election procedures comply with state law and that the democratic process in Framingham is transparent, accurate, and accessible to all voters.
