City of Framingham Seeks Public Input on New Splash Pad at Cushing Memorial Park
FRAMINGHAM - The City of Framingham Parks & Recreation Department is inviting residents to help shape the design of a new splash pad at Cushing Memorial Park.
The proposed splash pad will be located near the Academy Building in the southwestern area of the park, close to existing parking and restrooms.
The new facility will feature shade structures, seating, and a fully fenced-in area to ensure safety for all visitors.
While a recirculating water system is not feasible due to maintenance, staffing, and operational challenges, the City is committed to creating an environmentally and economically responsible space.
“We have heard the requests from residents for a splash pad, and I’m excited that we are now moving forward with this project,” said Mayor Charlie Sisitsky. “Our parks are one of Framingham’s greatest community assets. By participating in this survey, residents can help us design a splash pad which will become a destination for families for generations to come.”
“This project is an opportunity for residents to help us create a vibrant, welcoming space that families can enjoy for years to come,” said Alison Eliot, Deputy Parks & Recreation Director. “We want to hear directly from the community about what features, styles, and experiences will make this splash pad a place where memories are made.”
Feedback from the community will influence not only the look and feel of this splash pad, but also guide decisions for potential water play features in other parks throughout Framingham.
Residents are encouraged to share their preferences on water features, interactive play elements, design styles, and themes.
The survey is open now and will close on Monday, September 30, 2025.
