Framingham Highway Department to Begin Road Work on Maple Street and Mount Wayte Avenue

FRAMINGHAM - The City of Framingham’s Highway Department, in collaboration with Newport Construction, will begin a series of road improvement projects on Maple Street and Mount Wayte Avenue starting July 24, 2025.

These projects are part of ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and enhance road safety in the area.

The scheduled work will take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The full work schedule is as follows:
 • Thursday, July 24: Milling of Maple Street
 • Friday, July 25: Milling of Mount Wayte Avenue
 • Saturday, July 26: Paving of the leveler on Maple Street. Once completed, the crew will move over to Mount Wayte Avenue to continue the paving process.

In addition to the milling and paving activities, sidewalk construction on Maple Street will begin the week of July 21. This will involve alternating traffic, and construction will continue until completion. Once the sidewalk work on Maple Street is completed, the crew will shift their efforts to Mount Wayte Avenue.

Traffic Impacts & Detours

Due to the nature of the work, residents and drivers should anticipate temporary traffic delays and detours in the affected areas. A detour map has been provided for reference, and updates will be shared as the work progresses.

The City of Framingham urges all drivers to plan ahead and use alternative routes if possible. Safety is our top priority, and we ask for patience as we complete these important infrastructure improvements.

Stay Informed

The Highway Department will continue to provide regular updates as work progresses.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work to improve the roads and sidewalks in our community.
