Framingham to Honor 81st Anniversary of D-Day with Commemorative Ceremony

 

 

FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Veterans Council is proud to host a solemn and respectful ceremony commemorating the 81st Anniversary of D-Day, marking the historic Normandy France Invasion during World War II.


The event will take place at:

Veterans Memorial Park
 638 Concord Street, Framingham
June 6, 2025 | 3 p.m.


This annual observance honors the courage, sacrifice, and service of the Allied forces who landed on the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944—a pivotal moment in world history that helped secure freedom for generations to come.


Event Program Highlights Include:

  • Opening Remarks: Framingham Veterans Council Chair Robert Downing, US Army Veterans (Retired)
  • Presentation of Colors: Framingham Police Dept. Honor Guard & Framingham Fire Dept. Color Guard
  • National Anthem: Caroline Larson DiPalma, Junior, Framingham High School
  • Invocation & Benediction: Chaplain Robert Anspach
  • Moment of Silence: Charles Rousseau, Vice-Chair, Framingham Veterans Council
  • Memorial Tribute: SN Frank Brown, US Navy, WWII
  • Reading of General Eisenhower’s Normandy Speech to the Troops: SFC Nicholas Paganella, US Army (Korea), Member, Framingham Veterans Council
  • Closing Remarks: Charles Rousseau
  • Musical Tribute: “God Bless America” (All in Attendance)
  • TAPS: SGT Eric Finn, USMC
  • Retirement of the Colors: Framingham Police & Fire Dept. Guards

This community gathering serves as a powerful reminder of the valor and unity that defined a generation. All members of the public are invited to attend and pay their respects.
