City Advertising For Volunteers To Serve on Framingham 2030 Council

FRAMINGHAM - The City of Framingham is seeking volunteers to serve on the 2030 Advisory Council, an ad-hoc Council to the Mayor.

The 2030 Advisory Council is comprised of 21 Framingham residents between the ages of 21 and 35 who work to foster community engagement, facilitate communication with City Hall, and advocate for policies that support younger residents.

Council members provide important insight on social justice issues, economic opportunities, and City improvements to help ensure Framingham remains a vibrant and welcoming place to live.

Currently, multiple seats are open for representatives across different Districts and at-large positions.

Who Should Apply?

The City of Framingham encourages applications from young professionals, students, and community members who are passionate about civic engagement and making a difference. Candidates must:

  • Be a resident of the City of Framingham
  • Be between the ages of 21 to 35
  • Be available to attend a minimum of one meeting per month

There are two District seats for each of the City’s 9 Districts, plus three at-large seats.

Some seats are for 1-year, some for two years, and some for three years.

No prior government experience is required—just a commitment to advocating for the needs and interests of those age 21-35.

The Council has not met in more than a year, due to quorum issues.

How to Apply:

Interested residents can apply by filling out the application at this link – Form Center • Boards, Committees, Commission, Officers Appli

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but candidates are encouraged to apply by April 25, 2025.

Questions about the application process should be directed to the City's Citizen Participation Officer Nicole Horton-Stimpson at NHS@FraminghamMA.gov

By joining the 2030 Advisory Council, members will have the opportunity to directly influence policies and initiatives that impact young residents in Framingham. Don’t miss your chance to help shape the future of our city!

Created in 2019, the 2030 Advisory Council, by former Mayor Yvonne Spicer, the Council serves as an advisory group to current Mayor Charlie Sisitsky, ensuring that younger residents have a voice in local government. Members work collaboratively to address key issues, promote engagement, and represent the interests of Framingham’s emerging leaders.
