Framingham Mayor Orders Parking Meters Free on Small Business Saturday

FRAMINGHAM – To spur economic development and support Framingham small businesses, the City of Framingham Mayor Charlie Sisitsky has ordered parking meters to be free on Small Business Saturday - November 30, 2024.

“The purpose of free parking meters is to facilitate easier access for the public to visit and shop at the many small businesses located in downtown Framingham,” stated Mayor Sisitsky. “I heard how appreciative businesses were of my decision to make the parking meters free last year on Small Business Saturday, and thus I am declaring them free again in 2024.”

“Small businesses, encompassing all the shops and restaurants in the City of Framingham, serve as the economic backbone of our community, employing thousands,” said the Mayor of Framingham. “The importance of Small Business Saturday lies in its encouragement for residents to support local businesses that invest in our community. Throughout the year, many of these small enterprises in Framingham contribute to and sponsor local non-profits, schools, teams, and organizations, making Saturday a perfect opportunity to spend our money with them.”

“Small Business Saturday helps to infuse money back into the Framingham economy,” said Mayor Sisitsky.

Parking meters in downtown Framingham will be FREE all day, Saturday, November 30, 2024.
