Framingham Promotes McDonald To Fire Captain
FRAMINGHAM - In a room filled with family and firefighters, Framingham Firefighter Kevin McDonald took the oath of office to become the City of Framingham’s newest Fire Captain.
Hired on January 14, 1996, McDonald was promoted to Lieutenant on April 9, 2011, and made Captain on June 24, 2024.
Framingham Fire Chief Michael Dutcher said promotion ceremonies are a proud day for the Framingham Fire Department. There are always lots of smiles, and happy families, he said.
Framingham City Clerk Lisa Ferguson administered the oath of office at the ceremony in the Ablondi room in the Memorial Building.
On December 4, 1998, McDonald received a Fire Department Commendation for his work and his firefighter group’s work for rescuing a young child from a fire.
“That is one of the greatest things we can do in this profession, is save a life,” said Fire Chief Dutcher.
On July 15, 2002, McDonald received a letter of Commendation for his work and his group’s work at a water rescue incident, said Chief Dutcher.
Captain McDonald was pinned by his son, also a Framingham firefighter Tim McDonald.
