City Advertising For Volunteers for the Framingham Council On Aging
FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham is advertising for volunteers for the 11-member Council on Aging.
Reporting to the Mayor and the Callahan Center Director, the Framingham Council on Aging’s mission is to understand, support, strengthen, and improve the lives of the diverse residents of Framingham who are 55 or older through advocacy, communication, and collaboration.
The 11-member Council on Aging serves without compensation. The Mayor shall appoint all members of the board. Members are required to be residents of Framingham.
Familiarity with the elderly population and their needs and services available, interest in advocating for seniors’ needs, willingness to engage seniors in the community for input and feedback, commitment to attend monthly meetings are part of the responsibilities of members.
The Council on Aging typically meets once a month on the second Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Callahan Center. Members can attend meetings remotely.
The deadline to apply is Sunday, August 4, at 11:59 p.m.

Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
The Mayor will review the applications submitted by the deadline, and then make nominations.
There is at least one open seat through June 30, 2027 available, due to a resignation of a member.
The City Council, as the legislative division of City Government, has 30 days to approve or reject the Mayor’s nominees.
