Framingham Ponds To Be Treated With Aquatic Herbicides or Algaecides
FRAMINGHAM – Several Framingham ponds, along with a section of the Sudbury River may be chemically treated with USEPA/MA registered aquatic herbicides and/or algaecides during the 2024 season.
These ponds include Gleason Pond, Learned Pond, Mohawk Pond, Norton Pond, Lake Waushakum, and the Sudbury River between Water Street and I-90.
Treatment is anticipated at Gleason Pond, Mohawk Pond, and Lake Waushakum on Monday, June 17, 2024.
Treatments at Norton Pond, Learned Pond, and the Sudbury River may commence as needed.
Dates are subject to change due to weather, permitting, and other factors.
Prior to all treatments, neon signs will be posted around the shoreline of the water bodies, follow instructions on shoreline postings, and please refrain from recreational use of waterbody the day of treatment.
