Water Main Break on Salem End Road; Detour In Place

FRAMINGHAM – Framingham Water Department is reporting a major water main break has occurred on Salem End Road, just before 7 a.m. today, February 12, 2026.

As a result of the break, Salem End Road is closed between Temple Street and Singletary Lane, and a detour is in place.

The break is located near, but not at, the same location as the earlier break this week, within the same neighborhood. The water pipe is from 1926.

Water service has been shut off on Salem End Road and Cherry Oca Road while repairs are underway.

Department of Public Works crews are on site and actively working to repair the main as quickly and safely as possible.

Water service is expected to be restored later today, with crews working through the majority of the day.

Motorists should anticipate continued traffic impacts, and the roadway may remain affected through the evening commute.
