UPDATE (Noon, January 28) Route 9 East has re-opened; Route 9 West still closed

FRAMINGHAM - A transformer blew in the area of 121 Worcester Road at approximately 7:30 p.m. last night, causing damage to telephone poles and overhead wires spanning Route 9. The cause of the issue is unknown at this time.

Utility crews have been working overnight to make repairs, which are expected to continue until approximately noon today. 

As a result, Route 9 is closed in both directions between Concord Street and Caldor Road.

Please seek an alternate route. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
