FRAMINGHAM -  All City of Framingham municipal offices will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in observance of the New Year’s Day holiday.

There will be no curbside trash or recycling collection on Thursday, January 1. Thursday’s collection will take place on Friday, January 2, and Friday’s collection will be delayed until Saturday, January 3.

The Memorial Building will be open on Thursday, January 1, 2026, to host the Inauguration Ceremony for Mayor Charlie Sisitsky, nine District City Councilors, nine School Committee members, six Library Trustees, and two Cemetery Trustees.

Inauguration begins at 10 a.m. in Historic Nevins Hall. Governor Maura Healey and Minority Whip Congresswoman Katherine Clark will be speaking. Public is invited.

The Inauguration ceremony will stream live on the City's Government Channel.

The Memorial Building will also be open on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, during normal business hours until 5 p.m.

Residents are reminded that 2026 is an even-numbered year, and overnight winter parking is allowed only on the even-numbered side of city streets. Parking on the odd-numbered side of streets, which was permitted in 2025, will no longer be allowed.
