City of Framingham Advertising For Volunteers For Council on Aging Board

 

FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham is seeking applicants to fill seats on the Council on Aging that expired on June 30, 2025.

Current members may re-apply for re-appointment, but reappointment is not guaranteed.

The deadline to apply is Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

The Council on Aging supports and strengthens the lives of Framingham residents aged 55 and older through advocacy, communication, and collaboration.

Council Goals & Objectives:

  • Elevate the visibility of Framingham’s 55+ community to the Mayor and City Council.
  • Conduct community meetings to understand issues and provide reports to City officials on topics including:
    1. Resources and access
    2. Housing and transportation concerns
    3. Socialization and other emerging needs


Member must live in the City of Framingham, and serve without compensation.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of senior needs and services
  • Advocacy and community engagement
  • Budget oversight and long-term planning
  • Marketing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to serve in an advisory role to the Mayor

The Council typically meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 1:30 p.m. at the Callahan Center.

 No resume or cover letter is required to apply for this position.

 The deadline again is Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

 The Mayor will review the applications submitted by the deadline, and then make nominations to the City Council. 

 The City Council, as the legislative division of City Government, has 30 days to approve or reject the Mayor’s nominations.
