DPW Curbside Leaf Collection Begins Week of October 27

FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham’s Department of Public Works, Sanitation Division, will begin its annual fall curbside collection of leaves and yard waste the week of October 27.

All collections will take place on residents’ regular trash collection days only during the designated collection weeks. A separate vehicle will collect yard waste and leaves.

“These seasonal collections give residents an easy and convenient way to manage yard waste responsibly,” said Sanitation Director Darren Guertin. “Proper disposal helps keep our neighborhoods clean, supports the City’s composting program, and ensures that organic materials are reused sustainably.”

Leaf Collection:

  • Begins the week of October 27, 2025

  • Continues weekly throughout November 2025

Leaves must be placed in biodegradable paper bags or open barrels and set at the curb by 7 a.m.

Brush will not be collected during leaf collection weeks, and yard waste will not be collected during brush collection weeks.

Yard Waste:
Includes leaves and non-woody organic garden material such as grass clippings, plant waste, and small trimmings.
Not accepted: sod, dirt, sand, gravel, or rocks.

Brush:
