Framingham DPW Announces Road Construction at Intersection of Central Street & Centennial Place

FRAMINGHAM - The City of Framingham Department of Public Works (DPW) will conduct overnight construction work at the intersection of Centennial Place and Central Street beginning Monday, October 6, 2025, as part of an ongoing infrastructure improvement project.

Crews will work overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. with the goal of completing the work in a single night.

Due to the complexity of the project, however, additional overnight work may be necessary on Tuesday, October 7 if the work cannot be completed as planned.

To accommodate the construction, a detour will be in place and Central Street will be impassable at the Centennial Place/Purchase Street intersection.

The detour map is below

Traffic and Emergency Access:

Emergency vehicles needing access to addresses west of the Sudbury River Bridge must approach from the west.

Centennial Place will have limited access during construction. A fire watch detail and apparatus will be staged on Centennial Place overnight as a precaution.

Police details will be on-site to assist with traffic management.

Notices will be distributed to residents and businesses in the immediate area in advance of the night work.

The Department of Public Works appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as this essential infrastructure work is completed.
