City of Framingham Presents: Friday Night Concert & 14th Annual Movie Night
FRAMINGHAM - The Framingham Parks & Recreation Department invites families and friends to an unforgettable evening of music, movies, and community fun on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Bowditch Field Athletic & Cultural Complex on Union Avenue.
This year Parks & Recreation is combining the tradition of Friday Night Concert with the annual summer movie night.
Event Highlights:
- Live Music (6 to 8 p.m.): Enjoy the toe-tapping, feel-good sounds of The Hip Swayers, known for their lively blend of country, rockabilly, and Americana that will have all ages dancing along.
- Movie Under the Stars (Dusk): After the concert, settle in for Home, a colorful and heartwarming DreamWorks animated film about an alien named Oh who finds himself on the run from his own people and unexpectedly befriends a brave human girl named Tip. Together, they embark on a journey full of adventure, humor, and lessons about friendship, family, and acceptance. Featuring the voices of Jim Parsons, Rihanna, and Steve Martin, the movie runs approximately 94 minutes and is perfect for audiences of all ages.
- Sensory-Friendly Tent: In partnership with the ABA Centers of America, a quiet, sensory-friendly space will be available for guests who may need a break from the excitement.
- Refreshments and Treats: Enjoy delicious offerings from the Lions Club, Boston Events Food Truck, Kona Ice, and Eastleigh Farms, along with information and activities from local community vendors.
Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, family, and friends for this free event celebrating the end of summer with great music, a beloved movie, and plenty of community spirit.
