City Accepting Applications for Framingham Veterans Council

 

 

FRAMINGHAM - The City of Framingham is seeking volunteers to apply for the 7-member Veteran Council.

 

The Veteran Council focuses on issues related to Veterans memorials along with the review and development of policies pertaining to City of Framingham Veterans along with future projects and plans to promote Framingham and their Veterans. 

 

The Council’s primary purpose is to assist and advise the Veterans Service officer and provide community feedback directly to the board and the Mayor.  

 

All members of the Veterans Council are appointed by Mayor in a volunteer basis. 

 

There are three seats available, all for 3-year terms. 

 

Current members are encouraged to re-apply but are not guaranteed re-appointment. 

 

The deadline to apply is Sunday, July 6, at 11:59 p.m.

No resume or cover letter is required to apply for the Veterans Council.

 

The Mayor will review the applications submitted by the deadline, and then make nominations to the City Council. 

 

The City Council, as the legislative division of City Government, has 30 days to approve or reject the Mayor’s nominations.
