Framingham Community Preservation Committee Announces Fiscal Year 2025 Awards & Fiscal Year 2026 Public Hearing
FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham Community Preservation Committee (CPC) has announced the Fiscal Year 2025 funding awards made possible through the Community Preservation Act (CPA).
On April 29, 2025, the Framingham City Council approved $1.74 million in funding for seven impactful projects that support the community’s housing, recreation, open space, and historic preservation goals.
This year’s approved projects include:
- A rental subsidy program administered by Jewish Family Service (JFS) of Metrowest
- Construction of four handicap-accessible affordable housing units at Carlson Crossing East
- Installation of a splash pad at Cushing Park
- Design of the middle section of the Carol Getchell Nature Trail
- Amenities for four City-owned trails to enhance accessibility and enjoyment
- Restoration of historic woodwork at the Edgell Memorial Library
- Installation of a new fire alarm system at the Old Academy Building
Since Framingham adopted the CPA in 2020, the program has provided funding for 31 projects totaling more than $6.4 million, including over $1.28 million in state matching funds. These investments continue to preserve and enhance our city's character and quality of life.
