City of Framingham to Host Household Hazardous Waste Day on June 7


FRAMINGHAM, MA – The City of Framingham’s Department of Public Works will host its annual Household Hazardous Waste Day on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Public Works Operations Center, 100 Western Avenue.

This event is open to all Framingham residents. Participants must bring proof of residency to properly dispose of household hazardous materials safely and responsibly. Commercial waste will not be accepted.

Items Accepted Include:

  • Pesticides
  • Herbicides
  • Bug Sprays
  • Rodent Poisons
  • Paint Thinner
  • Uretanes
  • Oil Based or Enamel Paint
  • Lead Based Paint
  • Pool & Spa Chemicals
  • Aerosol Cans Containing Paint
  • Concentrated Fertilizers
  • Cleaning Solvents
  • Caustic Cleaners
  • Degreaser/Anitfreeze
  • Photo Chemicals
  • Oil Gasoline/Kerosene Diesel
  • Oil/Motor Oil
  • Mercury-Containing Devices

Items NOT Accepted:

  • Radioactive Waste Including:
  • Radioactive-Type Smoke Detectors (once
  • batteries are removed, can be thrown out
  • in the regular trash)
  • Explosives
  • Gunpowder
  • Flares, Ammunition
  • PCB Oils
  • Bulk Chemicals/Oil
  • Asbestos
  • Medical/Biological Waste, Including
  • Sharps
  • Items that are collected regularly at the
  • Recycling Center
  • Latex Paint (dried paint can be placed at
  • the curb with the lid off for collection)
  • NO COMMERCIAL WASTE!

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to safely discard hazardous household products that cannot be disposed of through regular waste or recycling collection.
