City of Framingham to Host 7th Annual LGBTQIA+ Pride Flag Raising on June 1, Followed by OUT on the Block Party with OUT MetroWest

FRAMINGHAM -  The City of Framingham will celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community with its 7th Annual Pride Flag Raising Ceremony on Sunday, June 1, at 2 p.m.

This year’s Pride celebration features a new addition—a vibrant block party, “OUT on the Block,” from 3 to 6 p.m. behind the Memorial Building, organized in collaboration with OUT MetroWest.

Both events are rain or shine.

The Pride Flag Raising Ceremony will kick off the day’s festivities, marking an important moment of solidarity and support for the LGBTQIA+ community in Framingham. The ceremony is free and open to all members of the community. The City will raise the Progress Pride flag.

Master of Ceremonies for the flag raising is OUT MetroWest Executive Director Mel Pace. The keynote speaker is Cayden Davis, Project Coordinator for MetroWest Care Connections. LGBTQIA elected officials and students speakers will round out the speaking program.

Following the flag raising, the OUT on the Block party will feature a wide array of family-friendly activities, including:

  • Food trucks offering a variety of delicious eats
  • Live DJ music to keep the energy high
  • More than two dozen vendor booths showcasing local businesses and organizations
  • Arts & crafts stations for attendees to explore their creativity
  • A beer garden for those 21+

The event is free to attend and promises a fun and inclusive atmosphere for people of all ages. Food trucks, beer garden, and vendor booths are on your own charge.

The block party will also include activities and entertainment designed to celebrate the diversity and vibrancy of Framingham’s LGBTQIA+ community.

The 7th Annual LGBTQIA+ Pride Flag Raising and OUT on the Block party is sponsored by the City of Framingham, Framingham Public Schools, Framingham Public Library, Framingham 325th Celebration Committee, and OUT MetroWest.
