Mayor Sisitsky Names City of Framingham 325th Celebration Committee
FRAMINGHAM - Mayor Charlie Sisitsky has named 9 individuals to the City of Framingham 325th Celebration Committee.
Originally, the Mayor intended to appoint seven additional members to the Committee. However, due to the abundance of qualified applicants, he ultimately decided to appoint nine members to the 325th Committee, thereby increasing the voting membership to a total of 21 members.
The Committee will develop a comprehensive plan for the anniversary celebrations, incorporating monthly events throughout the calendar year 2025.
While some events will be hosted by the City, the Committee also will work collaboratively with various City departments, including the Callahan Center, the Framingham Public Library, Framingham Public Schools, and other City Boards, Committees, and Commissions, as well as local organizations to facilitate additional 325th events.
The year-long calendar of planned events will encompass and highlight historical, cultural, artistic, educational, and special themes, ensuring they reflect the rich diversity, history and achievements of the City of Framingham.

“I am very excited to see what ideas the Committee develops for events through all four seasons off 2025,” said Mayor Charlie Sisitsky. “I am looking for the Committee to develop events and programming for students, families, young adults, and senior citizens who have lived in the City a couple of years or a couple of decades.”
Mayor Sisitsky has named Framingham History Center Executive Director Anna Tucker and City of Framingham Public Information Officer Susan Scully Petroni co-chairs of the 325th Celebration Committee.
“The 325th Anniversary is an opportunity to explore Framingham’s vibrant history and the stories that connect us as a community. I look forward to working with this Committee to engage with residents, gather diverse perspectives, and create a series of commemorations that reflect the many voices that have shaped Framingham over the centuries,” said Co-chair Tucker.
“Our aim is to craft a celebration that not only honors our past but also inspires future generations,” said Petroni. "We envision a year filled with joy, learning, and connection, bringing together people from all walks of life to celebrate the legacy and future of Framingham. By incorporating diverse activities and engaging each month.”
The Committee is currently soliciting 325th event ideas from organizations, City Boards and Committees, and residents.
Potential event ideas might include historical events, cultural festivals, art exhibitions, music concerts, or lectures and workshops.
Submissions should detail the event concept, estimated budget, and any collaborative opportunities with local businesses or organizations.
The 325th Committee is particularly interested in events that promote community involvement and foster a sense of unity and pride in Framingham.
