City Advertising For Volunteers For The Framingham Disability Commission
FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham is advertising for individuals to volunteer for the Framingham Disability Commission.
The Disability Commission is comprised of a majority of people with various disabilities. The Commission works with City Officials, in particular, the ADA Coordinator and the Access Compliance Inspector, to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of community life.
The Commission advises and assists City officials in ensuring compliance with federal and state access laws.
The majority of the Commission members shall consist of people with disabilities. One may be a member of the immediate family of a person with a disability. One member shall be either an elected or appointed official of the City. Each member brings unique skills regarding his/her experience of living with a disability.
The Commission meets the fourth Wednesday monthly.
There are two seats for 3-year terms through June 30, 2027.
Current Commission members may re-apply for appointment.
The deadline to apply is Sunday, June 30, at 11:59 p.m.

Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
The Mayor will review the applications submitted by the deadline, and then make nominations.
The City Council, as the legislative division of City Government, has 30 days to approve or reject the Mayor’s nominees.
