Water Main Work To Start in Mt. Wayte Neighborhood in April

FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham plans to upgrade about 2,700 feet of water main in the Mt. Wayte neighborhood, starting April 1. The work is scheduled to last about 10 weeks.

Framingham Department of Public Works (DPW) said roads impacted include Mt. Wayte Avenue, Newton Park Road, Chatauqua Avenue, Oriole Avenue, Denning Avenue, and Sherwin Terrace.

The City of Framingham’s utility contractor, Russo Bros, will be performing this Water Department work.

This work involves the following tasks, which may cause a temporary disturbance to residents.

Temporary Water: Bypass piping and hoses will be installed along the sides of the roadway. Please watch your step when walking, and be careful when driving near temporary piping to avoid damage to your tires and the piping. If piping is damaged it will cause water service interruption to you or your neighbors. Please take caution to construction equipment that may be parked in this area. Property access will be required to provide a temporary water service to your residence.

Installation of New Water Mains: This work requires trench excavations and temporary detours through the neighborhood which will be in place during construction hours. Please pay attention to where excavation is taking place and be sure to move your vehicle out of the driveway early to avoid being stuck in the driveway.

Water Service Interruptions: Residents will receive notice of this impacted work by door hangers. Please contact Framingham DPW if you have any serious medical conditions, regular scheduled medical services, deliveries, home healthcare services, etc., so DPW can coordinate these services with you during construction.

There will be NO on street parking Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. No parking signs will be placed in the areas where this restriction takes place.

If anyone encounters any problems due to this work or has any questions please contact the Water Department at 508-532-6050. Residents may also speak to one of the City of Framingham staff or Russo Bros staff on site regarding any questions.
