Requirements
Business Certificates (Doing Business As - DBA) must be filed by unincorporated businesses located in Framingham which are conducting business under a name other than one’s own.
Obtaining a Business Certificate
The certificate is valid for 4 years. The Business Certificate 2026 is available online. Please read the instructions on the certificate carefully. If solely one person owns the business, only that person need sign. If it is a partnership, all the partners must sign. If the owner is a corporation, an officer who has signatory authority must sign. All signatures must be made in front of a notary public. An individual must be 18 years of age or older to legally sign a business certificate. The fee is $50 which includes a certified copy of the certificate.
