Birth Certificates

Birth records are public records except when the parents are not married at the time of the child’s birth. In such cases, only individuals listed on the certificate can obtain the birth record and a photocopy of a photo identification must be provided to the City Clerk.

Marriage Certificates

Marriage Certificates are available for records dating from 1700 to the present. The City Clerk has records for couples who filed their marriage intention in Framingham.

Death Certificates

Death Certificates are available for records dating from 1700 to the present. The City Clerk has records for any individual who died in Framingham, as well as records for Framingham residents who died elsewhere in Massachusetts.

Payment

Acceptable forms of payment are checks or money orders made payable to the City of Framingham. Please include a self-addressed stamped envelope. Requests received prior to 1 p.m. EST are mailed the same day. If you would like expedited mail service (FedEx or UPS), please contact the Registry of Vital Records and Statistics located in Boston, MA at 617-740-2600.

The fee is $15 for a certified copy of any of the vital records documents:

  • Birth
  • Death
  • Marriage
