Last year, the Historic District Commission formally kicked off an effort to establish a Local Historic District on Saxonville. You can find more information about this effort at the Saxonville Historical District page. As that work continues, Public Works has been investigating what it would take to make streetscape and roadway improvements to McGrath Square at the intersection of Central, Water, and Elm.
In February 2019, C&ED Director Arthur Roberts presented a summary of the planning work done in Saxonville in the last five years as the basis for ongoing and planned implementation of improvements. View the presentation.
Public Information Workshop Number 3 - June 11, 2015
The Cecil Group presented findings and recommendations from the Village Center Study related to design, marketing and reinvestment, public realm improvements, and regulatory strategy. Residents were encouraged to provide input in an open forum, and also to discuss the issues with City staff.
The Cecil Group presented alternatives for public investment as well as private development scenarios for residents to discuss.
Thank you to all who braved the cold to join us at Cameron Middle School to discuss the future of Saxonville.
